Curriculum Choices

Doctor of Medical Science Curriculum

There are two distinct pathways toward the DMSc degree, we call them Essential and Expertise. If you’re not quite ready for the full doctoral degree (or already have a doctorate and want to dive into a new specialty), consider earning one of our Certificates instead

Essential Curriculum

The most affordable initial option, students completing the Essential DMSc will earn experience in scholarly research and writing, PA advocacy, organizational development, and leadership. The Essential curriculum can be completed in as quickly as 24 academic weeks!

If you’re on the fence about specializing on a particular topic right now, the Essential DMSc pathway is perfect for you.

As an Essential DMSc alumnus, students are welcome to add additional Expertise Certificates after graduation to deepen their base of knowledge and experience.

Expertise Curriculum

Degrees in the Expertise curriculum represent a “deeper dive” into subject matter for the students. This additional coursework focuses on practical topics specific to a student’s needs and career goals.

If you’re ready to go all-in on your specialty of choice, Expertise is right for you!

Expertise focuses include medical education, behavioral medicine, global health, and executive leadership, with more specialties on the way.
