Dr. Justin Gambini is a nationally recognized physician assistant educator and academic leader with extensive experience in PA program development, accreditation, and curriculum design. He earned his Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree and has served in PA education across multiple institutions, including leadership roles as Program Director, Department Chair, and Clinical Professor. His academic work spans entry-level PA education, doctoral-level instruction, and faculty mentorship, with a strong focus on accreditation readiness, assessment, and student success. Dr. Gambini’s clinical background includes emergency medicine, trauma, critical care, hospital medicine, and rural health, with additional expertise in point-of-care ultrasonography. He has practiced in both academic and high-acuity clinical environments and continues to integrate real-world clinical experience into didactic and clinical training. In addition to his academic and clinical roles, Dr. Gambini has over two decades of involvement in international medical missions across Africa and Central America, where he has provided direct patient care and led interprofessional training initiatives for physicians, nurses, midwives, and PA students. This work has shaped his commitment to global health, health equity, and socially responsive medical education. He is deeply engaged in professional service and leadership, serving as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and as the elected AAPA House of Delegates representative for the state of Missouri. He is a lifetime member of the Academy of Doctoral PAs (ADPA) and remains active in national and state PA organizations. Dr. Gambini regularly contributes as an invited speaker, author, and consultant on topics including PA education, accreditation, workforce development, and global health. He remains passionate about mentoring future clinicians and developing programs that expand access, excellence, and impact within the PA profession.
